Snow - England's Kryptonite T-shirt

On the 11th of February 1991 British Rail Director Of Operations Terry Worrall was being interviewed for The BBC by James Naughtie about the problems that the recent snowfall had caused for the company. When he commented that 'we are having particular problems with the type of snow, which is rare in the UK' Naughtie replied 'Oh, I see, it was the wrong kind of snow'. Worrall then said 'No, it was a different kind of snow', but unfortunately for him it was Naughtie's remark that got reported. This prompted the headline 'British Rail blames the wrong type of snow' in the London Evening Standard, and the phrase has since come to describe a weak or lame excuse.

It only takes a small amount of Kryptonite to render Superman helpless, and it only takes a small amount of snow to do the same to England. This retro-styled t-shirt is cool enough to link these hitherto unconnected facts.
