I Could Eat A Horse T-Shirt
The phrase 'I Could Eat A Horse' is usually taken to mean that you're hungry enough to eat something as big as a horse; it's also used in the context of being so hungry that you could eat something as unusual, an idea that is perhaps more obvious in the American saying 'I Could Eat The Tail End Of A Skunk'. (Urgh!) It's thought to have first appeared in the 1760 book 'The Life and Adventures of Sir Launcelot Greaves' by Tobias Smollett, where a character claims to be so hungry that he 'could eat a horse behind the saddle'. This version also appeared in 'Guy Mannering' by Sir Walter Scott in 1815.
It's horses for courses with this very cool retro-styled t-shirt.
