Prick With A Fork T-shirt

Have you ever wondered why sausages are often called 'bangers'? Well - pork sausages have been produced in Britain since the 19th Century; sceptical Victorians named them 'little bags of mystery' as they thought that they might contain other less desirable types of meat. With the advent of World War One they were proved correct as manufacturers were obliged to fill sausages with everything from scraps of whatever meat was around to cereal and water to compensate for the lack of available pork - when these were cooked on shovels over open fires in the trenches the water caused them to pop and hiss so the soldiers started calling them 'bangers'. You can't say that you don't learn anything here can you?

This retro-styled t-shirt may well be the ultimate in culinary cool. Maybe that should be barbe-cool. Sorry.
