Pretty, Pretty, Pretty Good

This is a 'Pretty Pretty Pretty Good' t-shirt. And it is isn't it? Pretty pretty pretty good I mean. But I've been thinking about this (probably a bit too much!) and it's got me wondering - how much better than 'pretty pretty good' is 'pretty pretty pretty good'? And when does 'pretty pretty pretty good' become 'great', or 'brilliant', or 'cool'? Because as retro-styled t-shirts go you've got to admit that this one is pretty cool. Well I think it is. Then again I've just used the words 'pretty cool' without knowing how much better 'pretty cool' is than just plain old 'cool'. I'd better find out - after all it's not much good making these statements if you don't know what they really mean is it? Well, is it?
