Caravan Club - A Hotbed For Swingers

The Caravan Club of Great Britain and Ireland was formed in 1907, it's intention being 'to bring together those interested in van life as a pastime' - which I guess to you and me are people who want to spend their holiday dragging a blooming great mobile home up and down the country. But the Ford Model T (the world's first affordable and therefore popular motor car) didn't come into production until 1908 - so what happened for the first year of the club? Was it all horse powered? Did the members somehow pull the vans around themselves? Or were there darker forces at work - did they just think really hard and suddenly appear on a grassy knoll by the seaside? And what do the popular jazz-rock combo Caravan think of all of this? We think we should be told.
