The longest beard in the world today belongs to Sarwan Singh - it's an impressive 2.33 metres (that's 7 foot 7 and 3/4 inches in old money) long, although that's still got quite a way to go to catch up with the longest beard of all time. That measured a mind-boggling 5.65 M / 18 ft 6 ins and belonged to Hans Langseth of Norway - when he died in 1927 they put it on display in The Smithsonian Institute. And who can blame them? And then there's Vivian Wheeler - she started shaving when she was 7 years old but doesn't bother these days; she's at 27.9 cm / 11 inches and counting...
