Southend-on-Sea has long been a favourite getaway destination for Londoners, due to its close proximity and easy access by train. Often pronounced "Sarfend", it is home to the World’s longest pleasure pier – a whopping great 1.34 miles. That’s mental isn’t it? Apparently its all to do with high tides and low tides or something. We don’t really care about that, we’re more interested in the fact they shot the closing credits to Minder there. You can’t beat a bit of Minder.
