Slough Is For Lovers T-Shirt
In 1937, the poet John Betjeman wrote a poem simply entitled "Slough" where he encouraged friendly bombs to drop on the town claiming that it wasn’t fit for humans. We’re not really sure what kind of bombs he was used to but they certainly don’t sound that friendly. His protest however was against the new industrial town Slough had become – and nobody can deny that what had formally been a rural area had now become one of the biggest concrete industrial areas in Europe. But hey, who needs grass anyway.
