This coming Friday 22nd November The Steve Lamacq Show on BBC 6 Music hosts the 6th annual ‘Wear Your Old Band T-Shirt To Work Day’. If you’re fed up with seeing would-be celebrities parading around in Ramones t-shirts when they clearly have never heard a single note by the band then here’s your chance to redress the balance. Did you see Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine at The Astoria in 1991? Of course you did. Do you still have the t-shirt to prove it? Of course you have. Well dig it out from the back of the airing cupboard, see if it still fits (well, it was a long time ago!) and get it on your chest – after all, what could be cooler than a Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine t-shirt from 1991? Not very much we reckon – except maybe a Mega City Four shirt from around the same time? Or a Senseless Things shirt? And we haven’t mentioned Nirvana yet… in the meantime you can click here for a link to Steve’s show on the BBC website, and if you’re going to be joining in on Friday then why not can leave us a comment telling us which band t-shirt you’re going to be wearing – us retro t-shirt types love that sort of thing you know.
