‘It’s the end of The World as we know it – and I feel fine…’
December 12, 2012 | Scott
So then, the 12th of December 2012. If you’re a follower of The Mayan Calendar, it’s the end of The World – although some followers believe that will come on the 21st December 2012, when said calendar ends. It’s not a good time to be a Mayan at the moment is it? Others consider it to be a very lucky day due to things like the time 01.12. 02 am (twelve minutes and two seconds past one in the morning) on this date being a palindrome – you know, the same backwards as it is forwards i.e. 2012-12-12 1:21:02 = 20:12:1 21-21-2102. There are other things too – at at twelve minutes and twelve seconds past midday it’s a ‘sixer’ – 12:12:12 12-12-12. And if you’re a fan of Chinese numerology you’ll know that the number one is a Yang number which is ruled by the sun (representing independence and individualism) while two is a Yin number which is ruled by the moon (representing symmetry and balance). Put the two together, and the number 12 balances the feminine energy of the moon with the masculine energy of the sun and bringing harmony to the Yin and Yang. It also means that we can all sing in tune all day… and how about the fact that December 12th 2012 or 12/12/12 is exactly 6 years, 6 months and 6 days from June 6th 2006, or 06/06/06? Pretty cool huh?
From the Balcony Shirts point of view today has been a day spent producing funny, retro-styled t-shirts for you the reader to wear and enjoy. That sounds like a good day to us.
